The international QS rating agency announced its annual ranking of universities from Emerging Europe and Central Asia (QS EECA 2022) based upon data evaluation from 450 higher educational institutions
Belgorod State University retained its place in the top-200 of the international ranking with 195th position. BelSU is ranked 39th among 129 Russian universities.
During the evaluation period Belgorod State University improved its performance by two indicators out of ten including “Papers per Faculty” (160th position) and “Web Impact” (64th position). Traditionally, the best factor demonstrated is “International students” placing the university at the 54th position in the region.
It should be noted that competition in the ranking is growing from year to year: this fact is proved both by annual inflow of new participants (60 new universities in 2021) and by the lack of serious breakthrough in the ranking despite of the increase in quantitative indicators. In particular, only one of six factors assessed in the rating – “International Faculty” ratio turned to be below the average for the region. Such factors as “Faculty/Student”, “Citation per Faculty”, “Faculty with PhD”, “Papers per Faculty” and “International Students” have been gradually increasing. Belgorod State University has exceeded the regional average and median indicators in all of the factors mentioned.
