Students of Belgorod State University were among the best at the All-Russian Youth Socially-Oriented Electoral Projects Competition
The finals of the 2ndAll-Russian Youth Socially-Oriented Electoral Project “Learning to Choose” competition brought together 46 participants from different regions of the Russian Federation including six from Belgorod.
The award ceremony for the finalists was led by Ella Pamfilova, the Chair of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, who stressed the importance of young people's activities in the field of electoral law and procedure.
Three representatives of Belgorod State University were among the finalists - Arsenty Rudykh, a student of the Institute of Economics and Management, Margarita Lisnichaya, doctoral student of the Institute of Economics and Management, Deputy Chair of the Youth Election Commission of Belgorod Region and Victoria Nesterenko, a student of Law Institute and member of the Youth Election Commission of Belgorod.
Victoria Nesterenko proposed to introduce a virtual educational game called "#CyberVoice" into the learning process as a project idea. According to her, the game is meant for an individual to try the role of a voter, a candidate, an election commission member, an observer and a media representative by in virtual reality in the context of the elections of the Governor of Belgorod Region and Belgorod Region Duma as examples.
The #CyberVybor project submitted to the competition committee was among the promising ones, as was Margarita Lisnicha's project of the business game “I am the Head of the Region”. They will receive methodological and organisational support from the Russian Foundation for Free Elections which organised the competition.
