Belgorod State University will support students falling on hard times through university's benefits package
Due to the constraints occurred in cash transfer from India, the Indian students turned to the university administration for the support. Upon the decision of the Rector they were provided welfare assistance. In their letters the students thanked the Rector Oleg Polukhin for the subsistence support mentioning how much it meant for them to overcome the difficulties they had experienced.
“We have found it particularly difficult since international bank cards have stopped working and we have been left without any means of subsistence. Your help is very valuable and timely. Thank you very much on behalf of the Indian students. Thank you for your attention to us, for your generosity”, wrote medical student Parasuraman Gokulakkannan.
Sanctions introduced by the Western countries, first of all, affect international students and that is confirmed by the situation faced by the BelSU students who arrived from far abroad, said Vladislav Kuchmisty, the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation.
“We provide 24-hour information support to our students from abroad. The International Information Centre of the Department of International Cooperation provide advice in English, French, Spanish and Arabic. BelSU Psychological Service also ensure all the necessary assistance”, noted the Vice-Rector.
