BelSU International students speak at the AIS Russia Congress in Moscow

International students of Belgorod State University participated in the AIS Russia All-Russian Congress in Moscow that brought together representatives from federal and regional authorities, heads of universities, public and other organizations. The event attracted over 300 delegates, including international students from 59 countries – representatives of over 60 educational institutions in the Russian Federation.

The event was attended by BelSU representatives – Christina Khabarova, the Director of the Centre for Intercultural Communication and international students, Sajid Qadiri, the President of Belgorod AIS branch and the Chairman of the Council of BelSU International Student Community, the leader of Afghanistan Student Community, Ahmed Mansur, the Vice-President of AIS Belgorod branch, the deputy leader of Arab Student Community, as well as the leaders of Tajikistan (Parviz Shambiev), Uzbekistan (Zarinakhon Mamatalieva) and Turkmenistan student communities (Evgeniya Grigoryants)

Valery Falkov, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Filippov, the Chairman of the AIS Russia Board of Trustees and the President of RUDN University, Vitaly Grishkin, the Director of the Department for Educational Institutions Coordination of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science welcomed the participants of the event.

Sajid Kadiri prepared and defended the project on holding the XI Congress of the Association of International Students of Russia. In his report he raised issues of documentation, adaptation, employment and stay of international students in Russia. He also made a proposal to increase the number of experts from the ministries to be invited to the next Congress.

In general, the Congress delegates listened to 22 reports and speeches on the role of the Association of International Student in development of youth diplomacy in the international student community, increasing the effectiveness of social adaptation of international students in Russia.

As part of the Congress the regular meeting of the AIS Russia Board of Trustees was also held, where the current issues of the Association's activities and its work plan were discussed. Master-classes on “Leadership Development Technologies”, “Project Activities” and “Forms of Interaction and Cooperation with AIS Russia” were conducted for the participants.
