The Expert Analytical Centre has published the results of the most inventive Russian universities ranking based on their patent activity.
Belgorod State University entered the top-10 rating in the category “Index of Inventive Activity of Russian Universities-2022” presented by the “Expert” Analytical Centre (Moscow), sharing the 9-10th position with Moscow Power Engineering Institute.
Belgorod State University was also listed in five of the seven special Russian universities ratings in inventive activity according to the priority fields of scientific and technological development (STD) of the Russian Federation, also in the top 10 of three of them. Thus, the university occupied the first position in the “Transition to Personalised High-Tech Medicine” rating, the sixth position in the “Countering Threats to Society, Economy and State” rating, and seventh – in the “Transition to Clean Resource-Saving Energy” rating.
It was announced that beside the inventive activity rating BelSU entered eight out of seventeen ratings according to the results of its publication activity corresponding to the subject areas. For more details see the attached file.
The results were announced at the round table “Invention Activity of Russian Universities: Rating based on 2017-2021”. The round table was attended by Andrey Peresypkin, the Vice-Rector of Strategic Development Programmes of Belgorod State University, who shared best practices of BelSU patent activity, emphasizing the importance of the university's participation in the “Priority-2030” Programme and the World-Class Scientific and Educational Centre “Innovative Solutions in Agri-Business”.
Dmitry Tolmachev, the Director of the “Expert” Analytical Center said that in the context of the increasing number of the rating participants, the regional universities’ impact on the priorities of Russia’s scientific and technological development has become more obvious. Another vivid trend in the Russian universities' inventive potential development consists in the shift to the Asia-Pacific region in terms of their patent activity.
