An open basketball training session was held at the Svetlana Khorkina Sports Complex of Belgorod State University.
Svetlana Khorkina Sports Complex of Belgorod State University hosted an open basketball training session
for the university students and perspective students from Belgorod. The training was conducted by the university alumni of Physical Education Department, some of them being the players of different Russian championship teams – Alexander Khomenko (Professional Basketball Club CSKA), Pavel Novikov (“Cheboksarskiye Yastreby” Basketball Club) and Gennady Tolmachev, the graduate of Olminsky BGPI, a winner of European Basketball Championships. They conducted training sessions and demonstrated basic basketball drills that were aimed at development of speed, agility and accuracy in basketball.
Daniil Bessalov, a Physical Education student of BelSU Faculty of Physical Education, was the best in face-to face drills. Iskandar Tyukmayev, a student of the Institute of Engineering and Digital Technologies, was the best in three-point shooting contest, Ilya Shangarev, a representative of Medical Institute won a memorable prize in “American Girl” game.
At the end, the graduates played classical 5x5 basketball game with all the participants. All the competition winners were awarded BelSU-branded souvenirs. As Vladimir Rudenko, the Director of BelSU Sports Club noted, the event was held in a high-spirited and friendly way.
