Russian writers tell BelSU students about the main goal of art

Among the guests of the literary meeting at BelSU were members of the Writers' Union of Russia Sergey Kotkalo, Tatiana Gribanova and Peter Kalitin. The meeting was moderated by Belgorod writer Gennady Alekhin.

The meeting with the students was organized as part of the project “Building Creative Spaces in the Youth Community” in the context of the “University without Borders” platform of the Prioritet-2030 university strategic development program. The writers shared their ideas on creativity and art, as well as the main goal of literary works creation.

“Conversation with writers” covered the issues of contemporary creativity and authors, plunged the participants into the history of literature. The writers noted that any creative person has his own perception of art, but almost everyone would prefer to remain in history and thus gain a kind of immortality.

Pyotr Kalitin, a specialist in the history of Russian philosophy, spoke about his latest published books. He noted that the study of such concepts as “Russian soul” and “Russian world” has been insufficient so far. Meanwhile, that is considered to be the study, which could bring art and literature to a new level.

Sergey Kotkalo, the Editor-in-Chief of the “New Book of Russia” magazine, underlined that the creative process should first of all bring satisfaction and enjoyment: by creation of the work itself and its result. However, it makes no sense to look for immortality through the texts, since the culture, interests and tastes of the people as a civilization change after a while.

Tatiana Gribanova, a member of the Writers' Union of Russia, not only told the audience about her vision of the world, but also read her poems from the stage. The guests of the meeting turned to the stories of antique writers and great scientists of the past centuries, who were not appreciated by their contemporaries, but recognized only after their death.

During the meeting students were able to ask questions about creativity and the sources of inspiration for their new works.
