The XI Orthodox Exhibition opened in the “Belekspotsentr” parallel to celebration of the 111th anniversary of canonization of St. Joasaph and the 600th anniversary of discovering the relics of St. Sergiy Radonezhsky.
Belgorod State University is an annual participant of the International Orthodox Exhibition “Angel of Holy Belogorie”. This year it included stands and displays of 74 participants from Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, LNR, Georgia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina. While welcoming the participants and guests of the event, Yuri Klepikov, the Chairman of Belgorod Region Duma, stressed that only love and unity will save the world.
Metropolitan John of Belgorod and Stary Oskol noted that this exhibition is the best example of spiritual unity, which cannot be destroyed even in such a difficult time. He wished everyone health, peaceful sky, prosperity and all the good. The honored guests walked round the exhibition tents of the participants. The exposition of Belgorod State University, which was prepared by the Department for Morale Building Activities, lecturers and students of Pedagogical Institute, the Socio-Theological Faculty of the Institute of Social Sciences and Mass Communications, was presented by Oleg Polukhin, the Rector of the university.
The exhibition was attended by the representatives of monastic farms and workshops of folk crafts. The monasteries and temples presented Orthodox shrines, miraculous icons, temple decorations here.
The exhibition is considered to be of great spiritual and moral significance. It was the result of joint efforts of the Russian Orthodox Church and the government to preserve and develop traditional spiritual values and national culture.
