Excavations of the archaeological heritage site "Petropavlovka-Selische-1" are now complete in the Chernyansky district of the Belgorod region.
The students of History and Philology Department of BSU and volunteers of the public organization "Society of Ancient History Lovers" took part in archaeological excavations at the site "Petropavlovka settlement-1" in Chernyansk district, as part of their research activities. The work was led by Tatiana Sarapulkina, the deputy director of museumification and protection of cultural heritage of the State Historical-Archeological Museum-Reserve "Tauric Chersonese".
The material found in the settlement is attributed by researchers to the Scythian period and the New Age.

Another group worked on the Karalar coast of the Crimean Azov Sea coast, a place of an ancient settlement with the conventional name "Polyanka". The third group took part in large-scale works looking for the capital of the Khazar Kaganate city of Itil.
