The development of scientists from BelSU received a silver medal at the In'Hub International Forum in Novosibirsk, timed to the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia.
The forum was attended by 240 finalists, who were selected out of more than fifteen hundred projects for a live presentation and expertise.
Boris Tkhorikov, Head of the Department of Management and Marketing, Doctor of Economics and Olga Gerasimenko, Associate Professor of the Department, PhD in Economics (National Research University "BelSU"), presented the GeMi (geomarketing intelligence) cloud IT-service at the forum stand. This service allows choosing the best premises for the retail business, saving up to 80% of rental costs. As a result, with the help of the service it is possible to develop urban locations in a balanced way.
The project is based on Big Data processing of mobile operators’ subscribers’ movements and the designer’s unique algorithm for calculating and predicting the behavior of different target audiences.
As Boris Tkhorikov noted, the GeMi service wasregistered as a computer program, and all algorithms were patented. The project has been repeatedly tested in real business and is a product of scientific and commercial value.
Olga Gerasimenko added that this service is part of her doctoral dissertation, which she is currently finalizing.
“In the future, it will be used in a grant application to the Russian Science Foundation. This is what lean technology looks like in the department: limited resources are used to achieve multiple goals,” – said Olga Alexandrovna.
