Belgorod State University Department of World Economy became the platform for discussion of the current issues of socio-economic systems in the context of globalisation.
The scientific and practical conference was organised by Belgorod State University. Andrey Peresypkin, the Vice-Rector for Strategic Development Programmes, welcomed the event participants. He spoke about the history of the university and briefly introduced them to the main university’s achievements and programmes.
Beside BelSU participants the representatives of the universities of Uzbekistan, Armenia, China, Belarus and Kazakhstan participated in the conference. Some of the participants made presentations on the pressing economic issues. Thus, Mariam Voskanyan, the Chair of Economics and Finance Department at Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University, talked about the analysis and evaluation of the contemporary taxation policy in Armenia. In her report she focused on differences between regular and progressive taxation, when the tax percentage depends directly on the amount of personal income.
Natalya Saprikina, an Associate Professor at BelSU Department of World Economy, made a report on “Methodological Aspects of Identifying the Growth Poles of the World Economy and their Strategic Triangles in the Multipolar World”. As the speaker noted, the world is currently in the process of transition to the new system.
The universities representatives discussed the development of the Russian economy in the context of globalisation, problems and prospects of development of financial, credit and tax systems in Russia and abroad, regional development in the context of digital transformation of the economy and other relevant issues.
A collection of reports will be published as a result of the conference.
