Belgorod REC - the leader of the first national ranking of science and education centres

At a joint briefing by the Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko and the Head of the Ministry of Education and Science Valery Falkov summarized the results of science and higher education development in Russia in 2022, announced the assessment results of the universities’ activity in the framework of “Prioritet-2030” strategic academic leadership program and the world-class science and education centres. They also presented new initiatives of the Russian Government and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education in the framework of the national project “Science and Universities”.

The briefing “Science and Higher Education: Key Results and New Solutions for Technological Development” was focused on the key solutions for ensuring the country's independence, measures to ensure the development of science and education in the regions, and new challenges faced by Russian universities.

The world-class scientific and educational centre “Innovative Solutions in Agri-Business”, which has been based at Belgorod State University since its creation in 2019, received the highest rating and occupied the top position in the ranking of RECs.

The activity of the country's research and education centres was assessed according to three indicators: the effectiveness of programme implementation, the impact of the REC on regional economic development, and the achievement of significant results and products.

Dmitry Chernyshenko noted that the scientific and educational centre, above all, should reflect the effectiveness of scientists' developments.

Last year Belgorod REC expanded significantly. Today it includes 74 participants from 15 regions of Russia. Belgorod State University, which is an integrator of the REC “Innovative Solutions in Agri-Business” network, has successfully implemented thirteen projects on all platforms. During this time, significant products and developments have already been obtained.
