A lecture by medical students was held at the Centre for Intercultural Communication as part of “Children of Russia – 2023” preventive campaign by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science.
International students of Belgorod State University participated in the event. According to Kristina Khabarova, the Director of the Centre for Intercultural Communication, such events are held twice a year. Musalima Ismailova, a fourth-year medical student, the Chair of International Students Board and the Head of Turkmen Students Community, came to talk about addictive and drug substances.
The lecturer focused on the destructive consequences of taking addictive substances. Musalima explained their effect on the body and life in general, as well as how to provide first aid to a person taking an overdose. The issue of legal liability for administrative offences and criminal offences related to drug trafficking was also discussed.
The students watched the film telling a story of a family ruined by drug addiction. At the end of the lecture, the speaker answered the students' questions.
