On the eve of 9th May a lecture on “Heading the Victory: the Crucial Events of the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945” was organized for students of Preparatory Department. Anna Repnikova, an administrator of the Centre for Civic and Patriotic Education and a representative of “Victory Volunteers” Association, told about the course of the military operations in the 1940s. A short film about a little girl who lost her father at the front was also demonstrated to the young people. During the final part of the lecture, the international students shared their knowledge about the war and asked questions.
As part of the “History Hour” event the international students had visited the Museum-Diorama “The Battle of Kursk. Belgorod Direction” where they were introduced to the history of the country and the region and impressed by the realistic exhibition. The young people also enjoyed the multimedia installations and sensor panels. The panoramic painting depicting a tank battle, opening behind the sliding showcase, and the exhibition dedicated to Belgorod occupation and liberation, struck them with its scale.
