The Institute for Intercultural Communication and International Relations hosted a conference focused on the current problems and challenges of the contemporary international and national policy of Russia.
The heads of departments and lecturers of the Institute of Intercultural Communication and International Relations participated in the event, including the keynote speaker Roman Travin, the Director of the Centre for Public and Political Education of Belgorod State University.
Olga Prokhorova, the Director of the Institute of Intercultural Communication and International Relations, paid attention to the importance of discussing topical political issues by students and lecturers in her welcoming speech.
Roman Travin shared his ideas of the most significant areas of the contemporary Russian politics and its attitude to overcoming the Ukrainian crisis. The speaker also focused on the basic political process determining the political life, the specificity of all public events, being the source of many other political processes. According to the political scientist, the conflict between Russia and the Western countries has acquired that nature today.
Elena Tsukanova, the Acting Vice-Rector for Discipline and Youth Policy, noted that it was not the first event of this format – previously a similar conference had been organised at the Institute of Social Sciences and Mass Communications, including a panel discussion on political views of the youth.
During the discussion, the participants were able to ask questions to the expert and express their opinions on the topic under discussion.
