The V International Symposium “Innovations in Life Sciences” – “Life Technologies – Biotech, Food, Pharmacy, Chemistry” involving partner universities from China, Vietnam, Iraq, Uzbekistan and other countries began its work at the university.
The opening ceremony and the plenary session of the anniversary symposium, which was held in a combined format, was attended by the administration representatives of BelSU, Dezhou University (People's Republic of China), Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute (Uzbekistan), professors, scientists and students of BelSU Institute of Pharmacy, Chemistry and Biology.
Andrey Prisniy, the symposium moderator and the Director of BelSU Institute of Pharmacy, Chemistry and Biology, noted that the scientific forum was meant to bring together renowned scientists and young researchers in the field of biotechnology. Evgeniya Karlovskaya, the Acting Rector of BelSU, welcomed the colleagues and underlined the symposium progress – emerging new directions and enlarging of the audience. The fact has been confirmed by participation of researchers from China, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Iraq and over 150 scientists from Russia. According to Evgeniya Karlovskaya, the main topic of the forum has been integrated into the university’s topical agenda.
The acting Rector noted the varied programme of the symposium and wished the participants fruitful work and new joint projects in the future.
Professor Kamal Rizaev, the Rector of Tashkent Institute of Pharmacy, said that the V International Symposium symbolized the unity of education, science and production. According to him, the reforms carried out in the partner countries, lead to transformation of research and educational in higher education institutions.
Jiefeng Yu, the Deputy Director of Shandong Principal Laboratory of Biophysics at Dezhou University, touched upon the topical issue of microbiome. Dr. Yuri Stolpovsky, the Deputy Director for Research at N.I. Vavilov Institute of General Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, made the presentation on “Research on the Farm Animals Gene Pools: Novel Breeding Programmes”. The forum will be continued in the form of sections.
