Inna Shapovalova, the editor of “Scientific Result. Sociology and Management” journal and Olga Dekhnich, the editor of “Scientific result. Issues of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics” journal, participated in the XI International Scientific and Practical Conference “A Scientific Publication of International Level - 2023: Achievements, Realities, Prospects”.
The conference, organised by the Association of Scientific Editors and Publishers (ASRI), being the long-standing partner of Belgorod State University, was opened by Olga Kirillova, the ASRI President. She noted that despite the current situation, Russian journals continued to be accepted by the Scopus international database. In 2022 and early 2023, 35 and 15 journals were accepted respectively. The speaker stressed that one should not stop there, and it was necessary to strive for continuous improvement of the scientific publications quality in order to meet the international standards. The ANRI President also expressed her point of view as for the current processes in Russia regarding initiation of new scientific publications rankings, creation of databases and platforms, such as “Russian Scientific Journals” database and International Science Citation Index.
Olga Dekhnich, the Editor-in-Chief of one of the three journals of “Scientific Result” Association indexed in Scopus, spoke at the conference on behalf of the group of editors of Belgorod State University journals. The report was dedicated to marketing strategy of a scientific journal, aimed at attracting renowned authors, reviewers, members of editorial boards, as well as building a positive image in the academic community both of the journal and the university via social media.
In general, the conference dealt with the issues related to the current position of Russian journals in the global scientific context and strategies for their further enhancement. They also dealt with the editorial policy, ethics of scientific publications, positioning and promotion of scientific editions in social media.
At the end of the conference, a Resolution was traditionally drawn up to reflect the proposals of the editors and publishers for further development.
