BelSU and Al-Istiklal University sign a cooperation agreement

The purpose of the visit to BelSU was discussion of perspectives for cooperation and signing an interuniversity agreement for scientific, educational, social and cultural advancement of both universities as well as promotion of the activities, leading to friendly relations. Short- and long-term exchange of teaching staff, research staff and students, aimed at achieving educational and scientific goals of the mutual interest, will be initiated, as well as network education programmes will be conducted.

As it was noted by Evgeniya Karlovskaya at the ceremony of signing the agreement, Belgorod State University had become the home for over 4,000 international students from 100 countries, also for about 1,300 students from the Arab counties, including the citizens of Palestine.

It should be noted that according to Rossotrudnichestvo, organizing the 2023/2024 academic year quota campaign, Belgorod State University is one of the five Russian universities, being the most popular among foreign students.

The President Al-Istiklal University thanked the university staff for the warm welcome and noted that he had made the decision to come to visit Belgorod State University due to its persistence.

In turn, Evgeniya Karlovskaya expressed hope, that the centre would both contribute to the students’ success, and become their homeland in Belgorod and in our country for all those, who had come to study from the Middle East and North Africa.

After signing the agreement, the guests accompanied by Vladislav Kuchmisty, the Acting Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, guided the guests around the university and History Museum, Geological and Mineralogical Museum, Exhibition of Scientific Achievements, Multifunctional Centre, Centre of Intercultural Communication as well as the Winter and Botanical gardens, where they were welcomed with bread and salt following the good Russian tradition.

As part of the visit the delegation members met with the students from Palestine and visited the student dormitory, where BelSU international students reside at the moment.
