Over 250 people from all regions of Russia, as well as India, China, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan participated in the scientific event.
The XXIII International Scientific and Practical Conference on Mining and Explosive Engineering was finalized in Moscow. Belgorod State University was represented by Ignat Ignatenko, the Director of the Institute of Earth Sciences, Vladimir Tyupin, a Professor of the Department of Applied Geology and Mining Engineering, and doctoral students Ivan Kryuchkov and Konstantin Ponomarenko.
The participants made reports on “Integrated Hardware and Software Solution for Creation and Verification of Large-Scale Blasts Model at Open Casts” and “Limit Delay Intervals for Reduction of Seismic Effect Large-Scale Blasts in Fractured Rocks”.
The scientists covered the problem of the lack of domestic developments in verification of computer models of large-scale blasts in the mining industry and presented the results of industrial tests of hardware solutions developed and created by BelSU specialists in cooperation with “In Vitro Vision” company and OAO “VIOGEM”.
Vladimir Tyupin's report was dedicated to the results of mathematical modelling, which helps to reduce a seismic effect of large-scale blasts, contributing to preservation of stable position of pit walls, walls of mine workings, buildings and structures located close to the mining operations.
Mathematical calculations made it possible to qualitatively and safely perform unique large-scale underwater blasts during the construction of Kola Shipyard on the shore of the Kola Bay and timely release a unique floating liquefied gas plant from the dry dock.
