International forum Digital Innopolis Days x AI IN 2024 at the Innopolis University discussed challenges and opportunities of artificial intelligence
Speakers and participants from 11 countries and 154 cities of Russia attended the international forum Digital Innopolis Days (DiD2024) at Innopolis University. The forum focused on cases in artificial intelligence, robotics, and innovations for education and personnel training. Vladimir Lomakin, PhD in Engineering, head of the digital department, represented BelSU at the forum.
Among other matters, DiD2024 worked on problematic issues of artificial intelligence AI IN that are currently shaping the basis for the development of businesses and the whole state.
The plenary session on Prospects for Robotization of Russia: Converting Problems into Tasks flew into an intensive and fruitful dialogue between the representatives of the government, scientific community and production businesses. Among other participants, the session featured Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Maxim Oreshkin, Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov; Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov; Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin, Deputy Minister of Energy Eduard Sheremetsev, and heads of the largest enterprises and holdings of the country.
The forum speakers noted that solutions involving artificial intelligence are widely used nowadays in real production, while it is still necessary to increase efforts in this direction, accompanying the developments by changes in the existing production regulations. The discussion participants concluded that the introduction and widespread use of intelligent systems caused a large number of new security challenges that were currently emerging.
According to Vladimir Lomakin, the forum gave special attention to problematic issues in developing robotization of production processes. Some participants voiced their opinion on the necessity of increasing the development of robotics, and of the need for widespread implementation of robots in production, the production of components for robots, and the unification of proposed solutions.
In his speech, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov noted that in the context of constantly changing working conditions and the introduction of new solutions in the industry, it was particularly relevant to develop university-based additional professional education.
According to Vladimir Lomakin, the participants of the meeting on student training in digital departments noted that the further development of the Digital Department project will be influenced by a stronger industrial focus, industry-oriented programs, careful monitoring and control of the training process, as well as centralized involvement of key companies in economic sectors for cooperation. Another issue of concern covered at the discussion, was interaction with enterprises of the real sector of the economy to attract their leading specialists to delivering classes and managing complex student qualification projects.
‘Our university occupies a leading position in attracting practicing professionals to giving classes at the Digital Department. The interaction with such specialists is especially well established for training on programs related to 1C,’ noted Vladimir Lomakin.
