It incorporates 14 criteria that evaluate universities based on their standings in various international rankings, including THE, QS (UK), ARWU (China), Three University Missions, RUR – Round University Ranking (Russia), and US News - Best Global University Ranking (USA). Additionally, it considers data from the United Database of Accreditation Decisions, which includes both the European Database DEQAR and the Asian Database DAQAR.
The ranking employs a unique MetALig methodology, which presents assessment results in a league format. Each evaluation system is quantitative, with universities ranked in descending order based on their scores. The ranking scale is divided into distinct groups, such as quartiles, ensuring clarity and precision. Ultimately, the results are compiled into a series of top rankings that reflect a percentage of the total number of higher education institutions worldwide. According to webometrics.info, there are approximately 25,000 universities globally.
