The software is part of the scientific work conducted by a postgraduate student at the university.
Scientists at Belgorod National Research University (BelSU) have created a software subsystem to enhance the diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorders in children. This tool aims to streamline the diagnostic process and improve treatment selection, focusing on early intervention based on the Denver Model, which emphasizes addressing behavioural development within the first 48 months of life.
Parental involvement is critical for effective autism therapy, as active participation significantly influences outcomes. Continuous monitoring of parental engagement helps specialists tailor treatment plans to the child’s evolving needs.
Vitaly Gaivoronsky, Associate Professor at BelSU, highlights that the Early Start Denver Model’s success relies on parents consistently executing daily tasks in the child's individualized plan. This approach enables timely adjustments based on real-time observations.
Postgraduate student Alameri Ali Nazar Majid, who developed the subsystem, notes that delays in feedback can hinder treatment effectiveness. His system allows near real-time monitoring of progress, consolidating data to inform recommendations for both current and new patients.
Parents complete daily reports using a specialized form, which artificial intelligence analyses to generate insights for doctors. This system not only tracks patient progress but also builds a comprehensive database for more accurate recommendations.
Additionally, the software includes a training module for parents, addressing their knowledge gaps about autism. This development aligns with the medical community's ongoing efforts to enhance early diagnosis and treatment strategies for autism spectrum disorders.
