The ceremonial rally “Colours of My State,” marking Russian National Flag Day, took place in the University’s main square.
Celebrating National Flag Day has become a significant tradition for the university community. Each year on August 22, an official ceremony is held to hoist the symbol of the Russian state atop the flagpoles in the square of Belgorod National Research University (BelSU).
In honour of the holiday, activists from the university’s Centre for Civil and Patriotic Education distributed festive tricolour ribbons to all students and staff at the main entrance of the university's central building.
In her address, BelSU Rector Evgeniya Karlovskaya emphasized the importance and symbolism of this occasion. She acknowledged the courage of students, faculty, and staff who not only live and work during challenging times in this frontline region but also actively support our soldiers through volunteer efforts and by teaching first aid to the community.
“May the Russian flag inspire us every day to achieve new heights and strengthen our spirit and loyalty to the traditions of our diverse nation,” said Karlovskaya.
The ceremonial hoisting of the Russian Federation flag featured special guests: Daniil Borisov, a student from the BelSU medical college and participant in a special military operation; Olesya Khoreva, a medic from the 3rd Dubovskaya Company of the Streletsky-1 Battalion; and Liliya Vovk, a student of the BelSU medical college and member of the Krepost military-sports club.
The event concluded with a vibrant and patriotic performance of the Maridance ballet from the BelSU Youth Cultural Centre, celebrating the spirit of the occasion for all participants and guests.
