Students of Belgorod National Research University (BelSU) achieved remarkable success at the inaugural international walking sports tourism competition held in the Republic of Uzbekistan, which featured participants from six countries: Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, and Russia.
Representing Russia, BelSU athletes Nikita Yushchik, Viktoria Chebotareva, and Elizaveta Luchnikova, all students from the Department of Physical Education at the BelSU Pedagogical Institute, brought home an impressive total of seven medals.
Nikita Yushchik clinched gold in the men’s individual distance event, while Elizaveta Luchnikova secured first place in the women’s individual distance. Viktoria Chebotareva also performed admirably, finishing in second place. In the women’s team competition, the trio dominated, earning the top spot on the podium. In the mixed team event, which included both male and female participants, Nikita Yushchik and Viktoria Chebotareva excelled by taking first place. Additionally, Yushchik partnered with a competitor from Uzbekistan to win gold, while Luchnikova teamed up with a representative from Tajikistan to secure a bronze medal.
