Belgorod State University marked its 150th anniversary year with a truly international gathering of scientific minds, as the 8th International Symposium on Innovations in Life Sciences brought researchers from across the globe to its campus.
The annual forum has grown into a significant fixture on the life sciences calendar, and this year’s edition drew prominent figures from higher education and research. Among those addressing the opening session were Evgeniya Karlovskaya, Rector of BelSU; Kamal Rizayev, Rector of Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute; Liu Yingfan, Vice-Rector of Dezhou University; Wang Liyan, Executive Director of the Belgorod Institute of Food Sciences at Dezhou University; and Firuza Maksudova, Vice-Rector for Practice at Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute.
Welcoming the audience, Rector Karlovskaya reflected on the significance of the moment.
“This year marks our university's 150th anniversary, so all the events of this anniversary year carry extra weight. We are moving forward not simply by generating new ideas but by transforming them into products and concrete technologies. I am especially pleased that so many young people actively engaged in science are taking part in the symposium,” BelSU Rector said.
Wang Liyan, who attended in person, spoke warmly of the bond between the two partner nations. Holding joint scientific events, she noted, creates opportunities to exchange not only research findings but also cultural understanding – a sentiment that captured the collaborative spirit running through the symposium.
The programme was structured around six thematic sections, reflecting the breadth of modern life sciences: Microbiology, Biotechnology, and Bioeconomics; Biology and Resource Supply: Vectors of the Future; New Materials and Chemistry; Advanced Training of Personnel for New Materials, Chemistry, and Bioeconomics; Pharmaceutical Cluster: Education, Science, and Production; and Innovative Technologies in the Food Industry.
Across these sessions, researchers presented findings, debated emerging trends, and explored common ground for future collaboration, spanning everything from drug development and biomaterials to the next generation of food technologies. For students considering a future in medicine, biology, or biotechnology, the symposium offered a vivid snapshot of an institution where international cooperation and young researchers are placed firmly at the centre of scientific progress.| << Назад к списку |
